Can I get free HSR ride before school starts?
I have just received my student id card, can I get free HSR ride before school starts? (in August)

It officially starts Sept 1st. You could try to use it, but if the Driver tells you that you have to pay then you have to pay. So remember to bring exact fare with you.

No you can't it starts Sept 1. Besides HSR is already cheap compared to say Sauga -_-

Presto card is better. With presto it only costs $2.00, but its $2.55 when you pay cash.

It depends on the driver, some drivers don't care, others are very strict ! If you try to use your card in downtown Hamilton, then there's a big chance that they are not gonna accept it and let you pay for the ride.

Just an FYI: It technically is not free, you pay for a subsidized pass in your student fees.
