Can I get my money back for residence? + online courses
I'm not staying in residence but I'm paying for it. Is there any way I can get my money back for the 2nd half of this semester? I also heard there are a lot of online substitutes for courses at MAC. Someone told me they took a psych 1XX3 from some other university online. I've been sick for a while so I was hoping I could do a lot of my courses at home. Any advice on this? Pretty much I'm really sick; I've been sick for months, I want to do my work from home. What can I do?

Special circumstances like sickness, housing and conference services (looking after residence) may help you out and refund some of it. My personal experience with them: they suck and you have to get loud with them... And even themn, they won't help you out.

It's like a customer support service, they suck ass at helping you until you bug them and badger them enough that they cave.

not in my case. I badgered them with the most sane and logical argumetn in the world, and they frankly ended with "We don't care how you feel, you're out of residence, we have your credit card numbers, we'll charge you what we want and you can't do anything about it"

Well I started off nice... for 3 weeks. And when they kept passign me from one person, back to the last one, and aroudn and around, and lying about when they'll get back to me, and not passing on messages, and making me waste a LOT of time: I get pushy on the phone. And you know what, it works a lot of times when you make a valid, logical argument, and you get loud about it.

Rakim likes this.

Oh boy. I'll try but it seems like I won't be getting much of my money back. Anyone know anything in terms of school courses? Second semester is starting on Jan 3rd; is there anything I can do immediately?

You should be able to get part of your money back if you are dropping out due to medical reasons. I would suggest going to talk to your residence manager first and try to figure out some of your options and then go talk to housing and conferences.
