Refunding residence money
Hey, I was wondering if residence money is refundable...

Both if I were to drop out NOW, or if I were to drop out after first term.

I'm dropping out either way, but I just want to know if I can get any money back or not.

This is what I found from here

23. Students who withdraw from residence for any reason whatsoever during the academic year are required to give immediate written notice to Housing and Conference Services. To withdraw from residence, students must check out at their Service Centre, and return their residence keys/access card. Failure to do so will result in the student being charged as outlined in section 17. The date of withdrawal will be recorded as the date the residence keys/access card are returned. The student is financially responsible for his/her full year’s fee and is placed on a refund waiting list in order of date of withdrawal. When a new student is admitted to residence, a refund is processed for the first student on the waiting list. Eligible refunds of residence fees are calculated on a pro-rated daily basis, and are credited to the student’s university account, less a $300 administration fee. If the student has no outstanding university accounts, the residence refund will be issued to the student. A student who is unable to continue to live in residence due to exceptional circumstances beyond his/her control may submit a written appeal with supporting documents to Residence Admissions for a pro-rated refund of his/her fees. This student remains responsible for the administrative fee.

I'm not nosey. Just curious . I'm not exactly making alot of friends and having a great time so I was wondering if that's the reason.

That makes me feel bad- is that why you're here and not like, at the concert or something? There's barely anyone in my rez! Meeting people is definitely more difficult than I thought it would be! If you'd like, we can meet up tomorrow and hang out for a while, because I don't know a lot of people either!

But that's not why!
I don't know what it is, but something about this place is setting off THE WORST headaches I've ever had in my life. I used to have headaches so bad that my parents would take me to the hospital, but they stopped so I was like 'I outgrew them!' Apparently not, because this is DEFINITELY the same thing, but worse than I remember.

Maybe it's the music cause it's blasting reallly loud. Yea and meeting people is really hard, I hardly know anyone on my floor and I wanted to become a FLIRC but I probably can't now.

Oh, and sure we can hang out if you want, maybe at clubsfest?

Haha, that's not why- I got one at 3 this morning, but not that there's like noise and whatnot, I'm peachy.

And you could still totally become a FLIRC- I'm in Wally, so we have like 15 people on our floor maybe? And I'm still meeting them! But I guess it's maybe harder the bigger the rez...

and sorry, was that really awkward? Some random person is like 'Hey lets hang out blahblahblah!' at you, lol. Maybe my people skills aren't the best.

You should really look into this again with a doctor. It probably has little to do with the actual environment and it may be a recurring condition or a new one that just happened to surface around this time.

Stress can also cause physical reactions as well. Maybe the whole new situation and any stress associated with it is causing you to have these reactions.

Also Welcome Week itself although fun is extremely loud and a huge sensory overload. Even if you're enjoying it the week can still take a toll on your body.

A variety of these factors combined could be giving you this reaction.

I don't necessarily think withdrawing from residence is your answer, not yet anyway. I would go get checked out asap.

I know what you mean, people are always saying meeting people and stuff is easy peasy during frosh week. That's true for most people, but not me. But then again, I'm an upper year in res so I can't really do most of the frosh stuff. And also I moved in later then the rest of the people so they all had a chance to meet eachother and stuff.

Talk to your IRC Rep about being a FLIRC. You still have time!

Yep! FLIRC forms aren't due till 11:59 PM on Friday, Sept 11!

And honestly, I think it might be homesickness :(, I've been feeling like this for the past 2 days too, but when I'm around people and whatnot, it helps you forget. And.. I'll hang out with you anyday . I'm in Moulton so I'm like 2 feet away from you in Wally

Sometimes after sitting indoors all summer, then coming to Mac and walking around a lot, I get what I like to call "Exercise headaches."

If that's what you've got, then maybe you're dehydrated...drinking a lot helps me get through it, haha. In either case, you should consult a physician (and personally, I think it's a bit unlikely that withdrawing from Mac will cure them).

Could it possibly be an allergy to something in your new environment or to something new in your diet? I have environmental allergies but I seen an allergy specialist and starting receiving shots and it has made all the difference in the world. Just a thought .....

I'm so embarressed, I don't know where Moulton is. I know it's like, RIGHT there somewhere, but... I don't know, lol.

Anyways, I'm going to wait and see if this stops, if not, I'll go to a doc before I leave Maybe I was getting a little drastic there! emo moment.
