If you are right clicking to "save as" then it'll save it as a web document. If you want to save it as a PDF you will have to right click and "Open Frame in New Window/Tab" then right click in the new window/tab to "save as" a PDF.

Basically if the URL doesn't end in ".pdf" it won't save it as a pdf.

Right, the instructions I gave above is for chrome because Google decided to implement a built-in PDF reader in the browser >.>

I think OP is refering to the fact that some professors choose to put up course outlines or any course content for that matter in html rather than .pdf. Pretty annoying really.

A neat workaround is to download cutePDF Writer. Then, assuming your course is on avenue, click the print icon on the page you want to save as pdf and select cutePDF as your printer. It will automatically convert the entire page into .pdf.

If it's on Avenue, all my experience with .pdf files in various computers, OS, and browsers, have led me to conclude that you just have to open the file on avenue, then press the floppy disk-looking save button to save the file. The other methods also work, but this way might work for you better.

EDIT: Ah, never mind. I thought you meant strictly pdf.
