If you're just word processing you might as well use Google Docs or the Office Live Web Apps, OpenOffice is slow, bloated, and has a feature set that would've felt outdated on a native application 10 years ago. OpenOffice is a P.O.S. as far as office apps go, there's a group working on a fork of it that might be worthwhile, but OO itself should be avoided like the plague.

Yeah Web Apps are great, if you're connected; I'd rather use a dedicated word processor than some cloud service. And the fork is still in beta, so why use it on a production system? |
