This. I have grade 11 college math, and that's it. I have to take Soc Sci 2J03 next semester for grad school and am kinda freaked out. And the comment got deleted about unemployedology. The "social work" half of my degree kind of takes care of that . I'm doing sociology as my BA because it's interesting/gives me a broad understanding of how the world works. Grads of mac's BA/BSW program will sometimes beat out MSW students for jobs

Seriously, I think the teacher spent all of 30 seconds on it and then I remember being assigned all the questions that didn't deal with them back in high school.
Either my memory is shot, my teacher was just too lazy to go into detail, or my school board was trying to phase it out of the curriculum or something...
Yeah, as I was trying to imply. A fairly minor subject, useless to 90% of people taking the course, especially those going into Social Sciences. People don't tend to remember stuff like that.

I actually never learnt that the sq. root of a negative number (or imaginary numbers in general) are represented by 'i' . And I took grd. 11 and both grd. 12 Math courses.

Here's some physics jokes

A Neutron walks in bar, he asks :"How much for a beer"
The bartender tells him : "For you, no charge"

Why are physicists so bad at sex?
It's because when they have the right momentum they got wrong position.
And when they have the right position, they don't have any momentum.

They're actually really funny, don't know maybe you got a bad sense of humour or maybe you don't understand the jokes, or maybe you're too stressed to laugh.

Yeah, because it's completely impossible that someone has a different sense of humour than you.

Well of course someone like you doesn`t know what Heisenberg`s uncertainty possible is about.

And by possible you mean principle.

Can you go back to deleting your account?

Edit: laughing my mother****ing ass off @ "someone like you."
Because I'm so sure you'd know about that principle if you weren't in engineering.

You're why people hate the french.

You mean Heisenberg's uncertainty principle?

Besides, you probably don't even know the math behind it to appreciate it either >_>

Yeah, exactly. Everyone "understands" quantum mechanics a la Chem 1A03. Unfortunately, there isn't much "understanding" involved in that at all.

That being said, the math isn't incredibly complicated or anything (by that I mean that you'd probably have a bit of an idea what's going on after the 2nd year math courses), from what's written on the 'derivation' section of its wiki article, haha - however, that said, there's a whole lot of background math to know - mainly "basic" differential equations (and calculus) and linear algebra, but also some more complicated stuff like Fourier transforms. Then, of course, the physics-intuition is a whole different matter. Then, I suppose, after understanding all that, someone would be able to understand the Uncertainty principle (I don't, so I'm probably wrong here)
