Because the world is afraid of getting sued, so administration had to cut back and not allow the slightest bit of comical enjoyment (not talking about the stripper... that's different). Now, if you want to pump up spirit, or make people laugh, you have to get it all pre-approved with dozens of forms signed by at least 3 specific people who are high up and intimidate most... And that takes weeks! And if you do something without all this paperwork, and it actually just makes people laugh, you're facing allegations of misconduct and they will hunt you DOWN.
There used to be a day when lots of fun was had... Heck, even my earlier days were more interesting, but still not up to par of the few years before.
There was a time when some engineers hooked up massive speakers into one of the red eng cars and slowly crept by the football stadium in Frosh week... They played some good ol' Rick Astly: Rick Roll'd everyone at Faculty Fusion. Do that today: Face expulsion.
