Aw, I was really hopeful for Quinn because I heard pretty good reviews on him. But then again, I only asked one person I already know at Mac about the Bio professors so... lol. I've never really liked ecology though, even that tiny bit in the final days of Grade 12 couldn't peak my interest. Oh boy, okay, this is definitely going to be the driest course in first year.

Oh the cancer project wasn't for marks, she basically said in one of her lectures that we should get into groups and come up with ways to cure cancer >.> And if any group had ideas, they could stand in front of the lecture hall and tell everyone. But there were 1-2 questions on the midterms/exams about some of the ideas that were discussed during lectures, so you had to attend and listen.
Quinn is a good prof, he's interesting and it's obvious he's passionate about his stuff. It's just the material that sucks

Also remember that students registered in the class have priority lol. If the class is packed and seats are full then I guess your sol.

What does sol mean lol? XD
Your mentioning of attendance marks made me fall off my chair! Ugh, bad memories from HS lol. I hope the profs I meet don't implement that. ):

Yeah you may have classes that use a device called an iClicker. Basically to keep lectures 'alive' prof's will have a multiple choice question up on the slideshow and you select your answers. Your iClicker is tied to your macid. Your not graded on answering correctly or anything just if you were there for the majority of lectures. Usually its like 5% or something of your overall grade.

LOL, okay, that's good, because I think I would have gotten no marks otherwise. XD
I guess I should just be super attentive when with her.
Just curious... but did anyone from your class actually stand up and talk lol?
@ [email protected] In that case, I'm just screwed either way. Better remind myself to bring lots of candy to class to make myself feel better LOL.
I don't really know about the other 1M03 teachers this year so I guess it'll be best to choose Quinn.

Oh, I heard about those things! Aw, I was looking forward to using them too...
But seriously... 5%? Like, you're not joking? Can I go bang my head against the wall now?

iClickers are easy easy marks don't worry about them And it helps you gauge whether you're understanding the material right or not

haha easy marks though. Maybe it was less...honestly can't remember. I used the iClicker mostly in first year. As you go up in years its rare to use it, in engineering at least.

A few stood up, but it was basically stuff that everyone already knew so....
About the iClickers, I don't think they were used in 1M03. Quinn used them a bit, so they weren't for marks

lol, I certainly hope the work with iClickers aren't worth 5%..
But besides that, from what you guys said, they seem to be fun to use. : )
Oh, btw, do any of you remember how much those things are? Because I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that we have to buy them.
EDIT: Also, just another quick question... Just double checked the master timetable~ for 1M03, the two profs are Stone and Kolasa. I'd like to avoid Stone if possible, but if I end up registering myself for Kolasa's class, will I still see Stone a lot? ):

I think iClickers were $20-30. But don't worry, the iClicker questions aren't hard and you don't need to get all the questions right to get the 5%. It's mostly an incentive for people to come to lectures; should be an easy 5% if you go to class
For 1M03, one prof teaches half the semester and the other one teaches the other half so you'll see him half the time

Wow, it's more expensive than I thought. Do we have to keep them forever once be buy them? XD
I'll attend all classes, as long as my health doesn't get in the way, so no probs there~
That... would really suck. I really really hope they'll open up a spot for me for 1M03 2nd term! @ [email protected]
