On the day of your graduation, all of the major fast food restaurant chain representatives will be lined up outside of Hamilton Place looking to hire newly graduated commerce students to man the grills or stand on a corner flipping a sign with their logo. Doesnt get much better than that for you guys!

Degree does not equate to skills or experience. No one here can tell you what your job outlook looks like. Lets say applicant 1 has as commerce degree and has a great GPA (3.7+). Applicant 2 has commerce degree a good GPA 3.0-3.7 but has worked in marketing for x1 company and x2 company and has the ability to use all these programs (whatever programs marketers may use). I would say that applicant 2 has a better opportunity of getting a job, in marketing at least. So the degree doesn't open as many opportunities for you as does work experience and specific skills.

my main point was to just get one to share their general experience and knowledge, thats all. I know nothing is certain and I am fully aware that at times it doesn't matter what degree you may come from in order to land a job.

Again it was just a general question to gather ideas, experiences and what not to simply formulate my own kind of idea.

thanks anyway.

ok let's see... a lot of people choose to get some sort of designation whether that be CPA, CFA, CHRP. right after university, while you are working towards getting your designation or no designation, you will will be working in a entry level position in whatever field interests you or where you can get a job. any experience helps, whether that is just volunteer experience, and obviously practical work experience is great. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS are important.
