Canadian Med School Profiles
Hi guys,
I'm not sure if this has been shared or not, but I found an interesting link while trying to prove my friend wrong haha. Anyways here it is :
http://www.oxfordseminars.ca /MCAT/mcat_profiles.php
It gives a brief overview about the number of applicants, the yearly program cost, application fees, required course and whatnot on all the med schools in Canada. And I hope it helps someone.
PS: Wow it costs $91,862.38/ per year for international students that attend McMaster medical school.

The tuition for UWO is wrong. It was about $18700/year. Calgary is around $19 000 as well. I assume the rest of the universities are also higher than posted.
The reason for international tuition being so much is the cost of medical training for one doctor is in the ballpark of $300,000 to $400,000 - partly due to subsidized tuition and the cost of residency. Why would the Canadian government want to invest in an international student* who may return to their own country after their medical training. Also, McMaster is all-year round meaning you're paying for the cost of three terms instead of two. For American schools you can expect to pay around $50 000 per tuition (2 terms, 1 year), so it's comparable.
*Even if you're considered an international student during undergrad, you may be considered an Ontario Resident for doing school during this time. Not 100% sure about whether you pay international or regular tuition.
edit: also the deadlines for application are out of date. I'd check with the individual school's website or OMSAS for the most recent information

I'm not sure how reliable that site is, especially when it listed no MCAT needed for Mac, but we all know Mac has implemented the verbal reasoning cutoff criteria since last year. Furthermore, McGill has recently updated their MCAT requirement, making it non-mandatory for Quebec residents and OOP applicants.

There are quite a few errors in this document. Firstly, McMaster does require the MCAT score of each applicant, it states here that McMaster has no MCAT requirement. Also, it states a min. MCAT mark for McGill, who do not have an MCAT requirement. I would be weary when going through that list... it states for quite a few schools that the MCAT is not required...

It looks like the info is 2 cycles old as the 11 BS, 9 PS, and 10 VR at UWO is old. And VR wasn't required for Mac until last year.
