Centre for Student Development!
I was told by my prof that if anyone needed help with doing research, essay writing, or anything of this sort I can contact the centre for student development but when I went to the website they have a student wellness centre, which seems to only look at health issues, and accessability centre, which is to help students with disabilities. So, I don't where exactly to go or who im to contact from the development centre. and are there any other student services that can help you academically(with researc tips, test study tips, etc.), something in the faculty of sciences. thank you

CSD has now changed it's name to SAS - Student Accessibility Services. They are located in the basement of MUSC, room B107.

Here is the link: http://sas.mcmaster.ca/

That's not exactly what happened. Basically CSD dealt with counselling services, accessibility and academic skills and such. But now, CSD's accessibility services are with SAS (Student Accessibility Services) while its counselling services are with the Campus Wellness Centre. As for the academic skills, workshops and such, those are now through the Student Success Centre which opened up last year: http://studentsuccess.mcmast er.ca/

They have a whole bunch of workshops which you can sign up for through OSCARplus, I highly recommend doing so!

Also useful is the SCCE office, but that's more towards job search, career interviews, etc - not so much academic skills. They're a great resource nonetheless! http://www.science.mcmaster. ca/scce/

So I had this same problem. I am looking for help with essay tips and MLA format. I went to the student success centre website and it says that there are no available appointments to make for the rest of the year... hmm not very helpful?? Am I doing something wrong or are they actually completely booked up for the rest of the school year? If so, is there anywhere else I can get help with essays?

They do have workshops:

If you wanted help with an essay you have already drafted, you have to call to make an appointment:
