Chem 2OA3/2OB3
Hi,
if chemistry is not your strongest suit, do you think taking organic chemistry (chem 2oa3/2ob3) during the year is a good idea, or take it during the summer? What about doing 2oa3 during the year but 2ob3 during the summer? thanks!!!

I would recommend taking it during the summer, but if you're not good at Chem, you would also want to keep your summer free to focus on those two courses.

2OB3 picks up right where 2OA3 left off. If 2OA3 was shaky, you will not want a break between that and 2OB3. The profs will not assume that you took 2OA a while ago, and the onus will be on you to do all of the work, the extra practice and catch up, which is already tough, and if you add the rapid pace of summer, that makes things even more challenging.

Let me know if you have any more questions

So is it a course that would be hard to pass during the year? I did not have a good experience with first year chemistry, so this is why I am asking. This is considering I am taking it in addition to biology and life sciences courses. Thank you.

Nope, it's not hard to pass during the year, especially if your other courses are biology and life science

its not hard to pass no matter what your other courses are.

anyways, its nothing like first year chem. chem 20a3 is some review but its basic stuff like naming, acids and bases, etc and all of which they spend like a month on. even if u did bad in first year chem, id still do orgo in the year since its pretty different from first year chem and takes a lot more memorizing and less understanding imo compared to first year chem.
