Chinese Kitten Killer! :S
I am clearly at a loss of words at this situation. I'm not sure how many of you have seen/heard about this but I've sort of lost hope for humanity after these pictures :S
Apparently Animal Cruelty filming laws have been turned down with the freedom of speech law :S
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=1080910 89488
"In 1999, the US government banned the depiction of animal cruelty, however the law was overturned by the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals which ruled that these films were protected as free speech.( http://randazza.wordpress.co m/2008/07/20/united-states-v-stevens-protecting-animals-is-not-a-reason-to-amputate-part-of-the-first-amendment/)"
Should Freedom of speech really protect what is clearly an act of negative utility to a living breathing entity? Sure I've heard the argument that animals are not the same as human beings (the whole if we go down that route then it would be offensive to cut plants philosophical argument) but even then this is not animal testing for beneficial purposes! This is outright murder! How can we protect showing of this under freedom of speech :S

Wow... anyone who gets off on watching small animals getting crushed should probably kill themselves now to avoid contaminating the gene pool...
I don't know why, but for some reason these films of animals (and sometimes people) being tortured to death for fun seem to all come from Asia and Eastern Europe...
Totally f*cked. Sh!t like this really freaks me out considering that Humans are the only species that can/will kill only for pleasure...
I can't look through all those pictures.

I feel so nauseous and disgusted by this. That is probably one of the worst things I've ever seen in my entire life. I feel like I want to cry because, I love cats and I love animals. They have feelings too, regardless of what anyone wants to say about it.
I hope that ***** is locked up for the rest of her natural life, or better yet, killed. But no one would accept that. She's going to get off with a pretty light sentence. I don't know anything about China and how they deal with cases like this, but I know I probably won't be happy about it.
I just, I can't even go to sleep now. I feel horrified at seeing that.

I'm too scared to look at the pictures, but judging by your comments, it's pretty f***ed up.

Ya, I would advise you or anyone else not to. It's extremely graphic and very disturbing.

Thanks for the heads-up. Definitely don't need anything else to keep me from falling asleep at night.

For the people too nervous to look, you can click that first link and read about it without seeing anything gorey. The facebook page does provide links to the videos, but I have opted not to watch it, after seeing the facebook image.
I'm not really sure what to say to be honest...People disgust me.

Let me just point out that I've known about this phenomenon for a long time, and I've only ever seen the one set of pictures/video... I'm doubting that there are actually more, or that there's actually a culture surrounding this behaviour.
I obviously believe that it's disgusting, but I just doubt that it's something going on in much more than a few isolated incidents. It's certainly not something that would ever cause or require the whole country to stand up and say "we need to stop this now! Lock up your pets!"

Wow. I first saw one of those videos probably like 5 years ago or more. It has been resurfacing lately, I hope something can be done about it this time.

I just don't know how you can have the stomach to do something like this and on top of it take pictures along the way. Extremely disturbing.

And this is protected by free speech laws?
Ummm why?
Wouldn't say she likes to brutally murder animals qualify under free speech, not actually doing it?
