Cisco Not So Clean Access Agent
Hi!

Lately i've been getting this really annoying message on how I have to update my definitions. I got a new anti-virus and I'm 100% sure its up to date yet Clean Access Agent which even gives me the option to update doesn't even work. Anyone know how fix this? I know it takes like 2 seconds to get past it up but that 2 seconds I could get a lot more done than have to wait for cisco to log on. On top of that I have a limit on how much time I spend on the web...

Thanks!

Ah, I had that same problem, unfortunately I don't know how to help you because I couldn't fix it myself. My hard drive broke before I figured it out so I had to get a new one and I haven't used Cisco since. But if it happened to me, it must've happened to someone else here who can help you.

I had that problem with an AV I used.
Just click next. Nothing you can do. Yeah, there is like a 1.5 hr or 2hr time limit (don't remember), but you can just log on again.
I actually wrote an email to UTS saying how my AV gave me this error and how my AV program is the best one out there and they should support it. lol.

The way CISCO CAA works is it uses a pre-programmed library of antivirus software list to compare to what you are running. If your software is not on the list, it will not recognise it, or may not recognise it properly.

Version numbers also affect it. If you noticed, for those who use AVG, when version 8.1 was released to upgrade version 8, CAA did not recognise it and quaranteened our access.

See the official list here:

Oh, makes a lot of sense. Probably explains why I couldn't log on when I updated my windows security. I had to get the tech guy in the library to download an older file and upload it onto my computer. :\

I think Macbooks get around it. I never had to install it.

That's another option - OS X / Linux do not require CAA.

There was a program for windows that tricked the system into thinking you were a Mac or a Linux system. It still works, but it requires a lot of work to make it do so :p.
