Claiming a Minor
Can you only claim a minor if you are completing an honours degree?

Pretty sure if you meet the requirements you can claim a minor regardless...you could always ask an advisor though. For certain minors, some course requirements might have it as a prereq that you are registered in an honours program.

I don't think you can make claims on minors, slavery laws and whatnot, it's frowned upon.

You have to be in a 4 year program to do a minor. You can't claim a minor if you are in med rad since it is considered a 3 year program taught over 4 year period. If you are in social science, science, or humanities you have to be in an honours program since those are the only 4 year programs they offer. If you are in commerce or engineering or health sci then you can claim a minor without being in honours science the regular degrees are also 4 years

This isn't true. For health sci, you aren't ever technically registered in a non-honours program, it really only exists so that people who get into med/professional school after 3rd year can still graduate with a degree. So, it's 3-years and not honours.

Where did you hear that you have to be in a 4-year program (honours or not) to do a minor?
