Clearing up Chemistry
So tonight is my course selection and I still don't know what chemistry courses I should take second year. I originally had 2OA3 and 2OB3 but I'mm thinking of dropping the second term. My question is: how much organic chemistry do I need for the MCAT? And would it be advisable to take Chem 2II3 since it is inorganic and will I need it for MCAT?

You will need neither for the MCAT itself. Some schools require both organic chemistry courses, some don't. I suggest you take them because they aren't too bad and you might as well.

I think most people take 2OA3 and 2OB3 to meet med school requirements...

EDIT: BAM! Ninja'd.

You don't need either course for the MCAT. Chem 1A03 should be sufficient. A bunch of my friends didnt' take orgo, but got in anyways.

If you are applying to the States, make sure to check their requirements.

Might as well take both to keep the most number of doors open. Besides, it's a science rite of passage to suffer through Orgo :p (Secretly I just want everyone else to suffer through what we did)

Yea, most American med schools require a full year of orgo, so does UBC med
