I personally feel like if you are going to sync something as big as an itunes library between computers you might as well just use an external or go through lan. But I guess it's useful if you are updating your music library on one computer since it'll sync the new additions which is very useful for keeping your music library updated on all your computers. But huge transfers over the internet, might as well use an external or lan and save your bandwidth (If you don't have a large amount of it).
