Most people in chembio don't have trouble finding a placement - you can do anything from pure chem to pure bio and everything in between, so there's lots of options.
In general though, they're not super helpful in terms of getting you a placement - you need to be prepared to put work into the job search just as you would for a summer job search.
There are many options in labs on campus, as well as pharma companies such as Sanofi, postings with Dr Valliant's company, etc etc. They also often have postings for Montreal and BC.
Don't not do it because you're worried you won't find a placement. The worst case scenario is that if you don't find a placement, you switch to the non-coop stream, so it really can't hurt to try.
