No surprise, the propagandists won.
Nino is exactly right, so many people didn't understand what this referendum really was about.

I didn't, I just wanted to shed some light from the other side.
This is why I also still voted for you by following the link in your signature. Very nice drawing, Cheri.

ANYWHO.......I hereby give this thread BACK to the Coke Referendum.

Well Huzaifa considers himself a sociologist, so there's no reason why you're not a legit philosopher!

It's more than alright. It was actually really amusing. This has happened more than once with people that have taken philosophy courses. You learn to think abstractly.
P.s. Plato is the best!

it was too hard to vote Yes with that retarded poster saying "6 out of 7 unions don't complain!"
so can we have a ref on either banning coke now, or a ref on getting tons of variety of juices? come on SRA, your chance to do something...

The electorate was wayyyy undereducated about the whole issue. I'm surprised that they didn't vote 90% no...

When Coke heard the result of this vote they heard our message and immediately cleaned up their act. Today Columbia is a happy place where the unions and the paramilitaries hold hands and sing their praises to McMaster for truly changing the world. Thank you NO side, Che would be proud.

I wouldn't hold your breath on getting more variety.
I imagine it will continue to be around 90% Coke, maybe 80%. All this vote did was screw us out of potential benefits.
Dealing with only one supplier who supplies different beverages will still be the easiest option, we just won't have any sort of contract to exclusively deal with them.
I can't wait to hear complaints from people who voted no who expect there to automatically be more variety, or who expect to see Pepsi or something on the shelves b/c they said no to THE POSSIBILITY (I think this fact went largely ignored by many people who voted no) of an exclusivity contract with Coca Cola.

I only buy maybe 1 -2 drinks a week on campus anyways so I guess I personally don't care about variety. You'd think a school could do variety though? I guess drinks are not really the most pressing of issues - ever. Lack of Debord in everyday life is the problem, can we do a ref on that next? up the punx lolol

The real problem here is that leftists took headlines from Columbia talking about problems with Coca to mean problems with Coca Cola...
