Combined Honours Communication and Multimedia Studies
I think a few people have already asked this before but no one has really answered my specific question that I can see so far. I want to get into the Combined Honors Communication and Multimedia studies program and I've heard it's really competitive. I heard from someone that you need at least an A- to be considered but I would prefer knowing what average people are usually ACCEPTED in with. I know it's a personal question to ask but can anyone who's taken that program give me some advice as to what average I should aim for?

I'll of course try my best but this is really stressing me out because my only back up plan is just to take Communications on it's own and I would really rather have Multimedia to go with it. Also is there a lot of competition to get into just communications too or is it just Multimedia that makes the combined degree so high?

I've been a good student all through high school (high 80's to mid 90's) but I've heard your average drops a lot in University so I'm not expecting it to stay that way.

Please please help me!

Hi man, honestly its not as competitive as people make it seem to be, (unless its gotten more competitive now though I believe they lowered the GPA requirement). My GPA was nothing high as your suggestion, it was just a 78% so really if you do the work you should be fine. Don't overstress it man and if you need help with anything else, feel free to PM me!

If you're around 80 you should be ok. You can also talk to the academic advisor in Humanities to get a better idea of where you stand on it, but for the most part I don't see you not getting in with the types of marks you've been getting.

P.S. I'm an alumni of the combined CMST+MMEDIA honours program.. you're going to really enjoy it!

i had an 8 in communications & a 7 in both multimedias i believe. it is competitive but not crazy. the higher your marks the better. not everyone gets in to multimedia but i wouldnt worry too much about it.
