Commerce Level Help
I Completed the following courses this year
Economics 1B03 and 1BB3
Computer Science 1TA3
Math 1M03
Psychology 1X03
Math 1F03
Biology 1M03
I had received reinstatement and was limited to 21 units, i finished with an 11.6 average. I received an offer to transfer to business 1. Since i have taken most of the courses of a business 1 student i was wondering if i would be able to take second year courses. I know i will have to take the required Commerce course, will i also be able to take second year economics courses and commerce courses? I dont really understand how this is going to work considering i have all prerequisites.

Generally Business 1 students aren't allowed taking upper year commerce courses. I'm thinking they want you to take COMM 1PA0 and 1E03 first.

I would think that you'd be allowed to take Econ 2X03/2G03 (2nd year Commerce requirement), since it's not actually a commerce course and you meet the prerequisites.

But your situation is different from most people, so honestly, we're probably not gonna be much help. It's better to ask the academic advisor.

The faculty calls the first year of the program "Business" and then "Commerce" for all other years. I don't know why either.

It's better to ask the academic advisor.

I think you might be allowed to take level II commerce courses from what I see in the undergraduate calendar. It doesn't seem like the courses require Comm 1E03 as a prereq. But you do need registration in Commerce and Econ 1B03 and 1BB3, so I think you would be fine.

Not sure though. But if anything, you can probably take some non-commerce electives that are needed for Commerce III and Commere IV.

Hope this helps and find the advisor soon.
