The only draw back is the expansions (campaigns with focus on zerg, then protoss) will cost money too, but the cinematics/single player in the game are really awesome.
FINALLY BOUGHT IT. The game is great. Only complaint I have is the fact you can't delete buildings or units (like in most RTSs); also, someone or something is always selected - you can never deselect. Regardless of those two annoying things, the game is great.

If you had to, you can delete a building or unit by destroying it (attacking with your own army).
Secondly, something is always selected, but when you're playing at 100 APM or higher you'll never have the luxury of not selecting and doing something >_>

Why would you ever want anything deselected? :p In an RTS there is always another task to perform... and in high level play there are simply more actions to be done than a player can actually execute - thus the need to improve your APM and budget your APM towards macro (base & resource management) versus army control/unit micromanagement.

How do I attack my own units/buildings with my army?

I am not a pro gamer, so I don't rush or play at a fast-paced environment. o: That's why I stick to either the Campaigns or Versus AI. That's just how I am.

1) Select your own units.
2) Press "A" (or the attack button in the bottom right panel)
3) Click the building you wish to destroy.
4) ?????
5) Profit

Its very intimidating to get into, because of the learning curve.

The learning curve is somewhat good; I took the tutorial and ever since the campaign has been pretty nice for me.

Online play can get pretty competetive, so if you like that in a game you'll have a blast, campaign is fun too though.

I am not competitive, so I won't do online play. o: I'll just finish the campaign and then do versus AI.
