Core= your lecture hours w/ the professors
Lab= laboratory doing experiments, etc
T=tutorial for doing questions and discussions
i don't understand what you mean but what you need and how do we choose. it depends on your class. if you look at the mastertimetable, you would see that you will have core for everything, then for some classes you might have labs and/or tutorials.

Core -> have to take... it's your class
Lab -> depends on course... some don't have labs
Tutorial -> same as with labs
You can choose which ones you want by going into SOLAR, use the drop down menu, pick modify... and change as you wish =)

I was wondering, are the core/lab/tutorials are already selected for you when the timetables first came out on the 8th?? Or do you have to pick them youself?

The 'system' will try its best to schedule it for you. However, sometimes conflicts arise. You can choose to pick another section yourself if you want to create a certain schedule =)

Yup, everything should be good.
As for your EOW... your prof will tell you which week you'll be doing labs/tutorials, as odd and even sections go alternating weeks =)

This may seem like a weird question, but if we have a conflict, will it show on our timetables? by conflict, you mean having classes that overlap right?

Yup. Any classes, labs, or tutorials that overlap will show up. The classes with the conflicts won't be the normal green that the other classes are, I believe they'll be yellow and at the top of the timetable screen, it will state the classes that are conflicting. If you have one, you'll know from the timetable screen.
