Course Calendar- 09/10
I was just wondering if anyone knows when the 2009-2010 course calendar is supposed to come out for the fall/winter session?
Thanks!

It should be out at the end of the month.

Upper years start course selection in late Mayish, first years are the last to start choosing and they're late June/early July

When I talked to a counsellor in late March, she said that they were putting the finishing touches on it... so I assume soon, although soon could mean a month easily.

I just wanted to let everyone know if it hasn't already mentioned elsewhere on MacInsiders, that the online version of the Undergraduate Calendar for the 2009/10 school year is now available online here, and the look is revamped (actually it looks a lot like UWO's now...):

http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...ent/index.html

P.S. There are now Chinese courses offered by the brand new Confucius Institute offered by the Department of Linguistics and Languagues, if anyone is interested

eycc11, Kareko, kokosas, lorend all say thanks to nh999 for this post.

Wow. It's actually navigable. This means the print version should be out shortly.

Wow, the new course calendar looks really good! It's more organized and prettier. One thing puzzles me though..

I'm in the Honours Life Sciences program and I noticed something a bit different. In previous course calendars they used to have restrictions for the number of level I courses you could take. In the 2009/2010 one they don't. Should I still follow the restrictions for the year I entered? Or more specifically, do you follow the course calendar the year you entered?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the no more than 48 units of Level I rule is still applicable. They may simply have written it somewhere else in the calendar.

If you can find where it was written in previous years, I can try to find the equivalent in this year's.

However, in general, I have been told by the Department of Biology at least, that if rules change in succeeding years, you are allowed to follow either year, whichever is easier (something along those lines). For example, in previous years, Honours Biology students were required to take all the second year biology courses (I think so anyway...) but now you are only required to take 3 of them, so you are allowed to follow the latter even if you started the program before the change was made.

*******
EDIT:

I found it: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...ent/pg121.html

"Limit on Level I Courses: In most Faculties, you may not obtain credit in more than 42 units of Level I courses in a three-level program, or more than 48 units in a four-level program. "

Thanks! I thought it was strange that it was missing, but I guess it was just somewhere else.

I thought under course listings it would say what day/time the courses will take place... I guess I am looking at the wrong course calendar... What should I be looking for?

you're thinking of the master course timetable, which won't be out until may (most likely mid-may) at the earliest.

Is it weird that I'm excited to pick courses for next year? Ah well, when do we start anyways, like June?
