Help with the Undergraduate Calendar
BIOLOGY 3P03 CELL PHYSIOLOGY
Analysis of cell function with an emphasis on electrical properties, ion transport proteins, signalling via second messengers, mechanisms of cell homeostasis, and epithelial transport.
Two lectures, one tutorial; one term
Prerequisite(s): BIOLOGY 2A03 or PSYCH 2F03, or both BIOLOGY 1A03 (or ISCI 1A24) and six units from KINESIOL 1A03, 1AA3 (or 1A06), 1Y03, 1YY3; and credit or registration in one of BIOCHEM 2A06, 2BB3 or 3G03
I was wondering if anybody could please help me understand what that means

You need credit in Either Bio 2A, or Psych 2F.
IF you do not have either one of these courses, then you need credit in all three of the following:
-Bio 1A03
-Kin 1A03
-Kin 1AA3
Meeting any of the three course combinations above, you require, in addition, credit or registration** in only one of Biochem 2A, 2BB or 2G
**This means you can take the course during the current academic year (it need not be completed, merely 'in progress').

You also need to be enrolled in Biochem 3G03.
This course has been a pain in my side recently.

These sort of things are making considering a Biology minor much more difficult.

Shouldn't be too bad. Just load up on the 2nd year bios in your second and third year, which are all pretty easy and take 2 easy ecology courses in your 4th year.

It's when they require BIOCHEM or registration in a Science program that I get really screwed and can't take the course. Then I'm prevented from an upper year course and I don't want my courses for Biology preventing me from maximizing the opportunities offered to me with a Commerce degree by filling up my schedule with all the prerequisites for Bio and only taking the bare minimum for Comm.

Since the minors don't show on your degree anyway, it's always good to take them as electives anyway.. And of course satisfying your major degree (and a little more) is of course more important
