Course Question!
Hi, my names Raven and i will be going into life sciences in the fall . I have been looking into the course options, and remembered seeing something earlier about having to take a course before the regular physics course if you did not complete SPH4U in high school. is this correct?

to be honest I haven't taken any physics during high school, so I probably really need that course lol, my guidance counselor got me drop the class because he said i "wouldnt need it for life sciences" ...really regret listening to him now
but thanks for letting me know!

If you haven't taken any physics than it's required that you take 1L03.
And yeah...for some reason every guidance counselor/academic advisor I've ever spoken to (both in high school and at Mac) has wanted me to a) drop physics, b) take physics in the summer when it's "easier", c) take the easier physics instead of the harder one. In each case I didn't listen, and in each case it was a really good decision. I don't know what these people all have against physics...

yeah I'll never understand why people would not want to take physics in high school because it was 'hard' or something when only your top 6 marks are looked at anyways, and it's not like the field of physics gets magically easier when you're in post secondary

Physics and Calclus (1L03/1LS3) are both essentially review of high school with some added concepts, and some things taken out courses. They aren't very difficult and with a bit of work you should have no problem getting a 10+
