Course selection advice
Hey,

I'm in Life Sci, I'm taking the following courses

term 1
BIO 1A03
CHEM 1A03
PSYCH 1X03
PHYSICS 1L03
CMST 1A03

term 2
BIO 1M03
CHEM 1AA3
PSYCH 1XX3
PHYSICS 1B03
MATH 1LS3

I want a relatively easy first semester to uni, and since that Unholy Trinity of Bio, Chem, Psych is forced on me, i took physics 1l03, and then cmst 1a03 to make life easier...

the problem is, PHYSICS 1L03 and CMST 1A03 conflict in at least one class (Wed 11:30) - i thought SOLAR was supposed to point that out, but it didn't...

so i have to get rid of one of those 2 courses, i decided on getting rid of CMST 1A03, and to fill that spot, i thought of a couple of options

(schedule1) Move MATH 1LS3 to 1st term, and take ENVIR SC 1A03/1B03, CMST 1A03(full atm) 2nd term (problem = MATH 1LS3 has 2 8:30 classes, monday and wednesday, horrible for me as im commuting)

(schedule2) Take HLTH AGE 1BB3 for term 1 instead, which results in a GOLDEN timetable for me (problem = course is full)

SO, IMO, the best solution is schedule2, any opinions/suggestions on that?
any other courses that i can take in term 1? ENVIR SC 1G03 is available...

another option would be

(schedule 3) drop cmst 1a03 for term 1 and take earth sc 1g03
leaves a good amount of breaks, which i can fill up with tutorials and labs anyway

Have you taken gr12 physics? If so, then I'd drop physics 1L03. It's a waste of money if you've already taken gr12, and it solves your conflict problem. I know quite a few people who took it as a refresher course, or because they didn't feel very confident in their physics ability, and it didn't help at all. The science academic advisors tend to push 1L03 over 1B03 (and math 1LS3 over 1A03) for people in life sci, but they do it in a blanket "everyone sucks at or hates math/physics therefore they should all take the easier one instead of actually learning something" kind of way.
If you didn't take gr12 physics, then dropping 1L03 isn't an option, so ignore everything I said

And if it makes you feel better, psych 1X03 isn't bad at all. It's more social psych/cognition/behaviour and I found it much easier and more interesting than 1XX3, which mostly deals with memorizing neuroscience and sensory pathways. Bio & chem aren't too difficult either...just wait til second year when you're taking 5 bio courses, or 5 chem courses (depending what program you choose)

I'd take out physics 1L03, CMST 1A03, and Psych 1XX3. Replace the first two with easier courses such as Micro econ (ECON 1B03) and Astronomy (Astro 1F03). Theres an anti-requisite for Psych 1XX3 in the health science program called Psychbiology HTH SCI 1G03. It's easier to score a better grade in this course. Just my two cents.

I think the course is required for health scis, but according to the course calendar, the only prereq is credit or co-registration in Bio 1A03 or HthSci 1I06. Since you have bio 1A03 first term, that will work regardless of what term psychobio is in.

It's one of the few open courses of HTH SCI, and perhaps the only one in first year.
