Course Selection and Timetale Question
Hey Guys,
Say I picked 2 courses that conflict each other and I pick them. Does this mean the registrar will do their best to ensure that I have a conflict free schedule?
Also I was one course short when picking my courses and I noticed that I could still add courses today. So if I added a course today do they still look at it for the timetable?
Thanks

Question #1 - the timetable generated for you will show that the two courses conflict; they can't ensure a conflict-free schedule if two courses conflict
Question #2 - Yep. SOLAR closes again on July 30, after which timetables will begin to be generated. So you have until that point to change/add/remove courses if you want them to show up on your first timetable. As well, even after timetables are released, you can go back on SOLAR to change/add/remove courses, and your timetable will be updated.

Awesome, I never knew they opened it again after the initial selection
If 2 courses did conflict, would I be able to still take them if I choose to and felt is was possible?

I think you can, but if the final exams for those two courses are scheduled at the same time/day, you're out of luck.

Cool! Thanks a lot. Hopefully my timetable comes out clean
One more question.
Say I take 5 courses at Mac and 1 online, would that count at 6 for OSAP? Just curious, because if my time table has conflicts then I might have to do that

You should talk to SFAS to be sure but my guess would be no. When OSAP contacts McMaster to get all your program information, they will not know you are taking other courses are other universities and therefore would only report the courses you are taking at McMaster.
