The course selection is confusing.
I'm going into Computer Science and I have no clue what my mandatory courses and electives are and how many I need. Also, does level 1 mean first year, level 2 mean second year, etc?

Scroll down on this link for the mandatory credits you need for first year Comp. Sci:
http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...12/pg1197.html

Yes, you're right
Level 1 = 1st year courses, and etc.

I'm looking at the page you linked and I'm wondering: Do the units mean how much the course is worth?

It says COMP SCI 1FC3, 1MD3 are 6 units. Does that mean both of these courses are 6 units each or 3?

The last number in the course code is the number of units. So 1FC3 and 1MD3 are 3 units each.

Okay, one last question. It says "COMPUTER SCIENCE I: 30 UNITS {0145}"

Does this mean the courses I select have to add up to 30? Is there a limit?

@above, what courses did you select?

Yep. They should add up to 30 units. And yes, that's the limit for first year programs excluding Engineering. In other years, you can exceed that and overload as long as you have a certain average, but that's not something to worry about right now.

30 is the limit you must attain in first year which include the prerequisites stated on the page I linked. I took all the prerequisites (obviously) the two econ courses, the two geog courses and philos 1e03. I suggest reading some course reviews before selecting electives and see what is available.
