Courses not on Master Timetable?
Hey there! I'm looking for
Mathematics 1H03 – Linear Algebra for Engineering
Mathematics 1N03 – Calculus for Engineering I
Mathematics 1NN3 – Calculus for Engineering II

But I couldn't find it on the master timetable (
https://adweb.cis.mcmaster.ca /mtt/...res.php?page=1) Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

I don't think they are offered anymore... I can't find them on the course calendar either.

The math courses for engineers are:

Math 1Z04: Differential calculus, sequences and series, vectors and the geometry of space.

Math 1ZZ5: The definite integral, techniques of integration, parametrized curves, partial derivatives, multiple integrals, complex numbers, vector spaces, systems of linear equations, matrices, determinants, applications.

Math 1ZZ5 follows 1Z04 (i.e 1Z04 is a prerequisite for 1ZZ5)

Are you required to take them? I think you're looking at an old course calendar.

Here are the courses for first year Eng: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...nt/pg1197.html

I assume you have to take MATH 1Z04, 1ZZ5 in place of the listed courses.

Those three math course were the old courses for the old curriculum. I had to take them in my first year two years ago but not it's the new 1Z04 and 1ZZ5 math courses for engineers.

Yeah, I believe you were looking at the 07/08 calendar. You should always try to find the new one.

The new one is http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...ent/index.html

I think they changed it so that they don't have to make an entirely new calendar every year because they don't have the year in the url anymore. It's just "current" now.

Hey thanks, another quick question... for MATH1Z04(https://adweb.cis.mcmaster.ca /mtt/... =1Z04&t=1&d=D) Does it mean Childs is teaching both C01 and C02 or only C01 only?

Hmm, good point. The fact that his name is listed twice would suggest that he is teaching both. They probably just put his name in the wrong table. But I cannot be to sure. You can e-mail Dr. Childs at [email protected]

I thought Childs was teaching both, but it may be an error.

Is the website that you looked at updated for this year.

Lol, I removed that information, the times were wrong compared to the MTT.

But it's so odd because at the top of that page it says Fall 2009...

Yeah it's the updated one. I searched for it on the Master Timetable. The prof listing for MATH1ZZ5 is kind of weird too (for C02)...is it possible to have 2 profs teaching one core?

Yes, it's possible to have even more. In first year bio you have 3 teachers teaching 1 core. Each one teaches a different subject. For bio it was like, evolution, ecology and something else. For math it might be theory and then application.
