Curious About the pool schedules, athletics site is confusing...
Hey guys, I was looking around the marauders site at the pool schedule but I was a little confused so maybe someone who uses the pool more often that me can help out.

My first question, is the pool available for swimming on the weekends?

Secondly, I see on the schedule there are "lap" times, I was wondering is there are "free swim" times. I'm a pretty bad swimmer and I kind of just want to be able to get some practice in my friend

I would appreciate any help you guys can offer.

No weekend swimming sadly, but there will be weekend swimming when school starts. Mac just don't want to pay extra for lifeguards.

This is pretty much it. They are not lap times, anyone can swim. If you are a bad swimmer or good swimmer, no one cares, swimming is swimming. There are always slow, medium and fast lanes. The leisure swims are the no lanes, I guess that is free swim.

Please also respect the direction of the lanes (up the middle, down the sides).

During "lap times", the pool is only available for lengths.
During "leisure swims", the pool is available for floating around as you please.

There are "free" swims. They are called "leisure" swims.

And it's not true that Mac doesn't want to pay the extra lifeguards, but in the summer, the demand just isn't there to justify it.

Is use of the pool included in the gym membership, or do you have to pay everytime you're going to swim laps? I go about once or twice a week to do laps right now and am just curious

Its included in your student membership so its free to all students who have a valid student sticker. The Pulse requires a separate membership.
