What a crappy forum. MI has only threads where an emotionally filled opinion is laid out, and murmurs of assent from the rest of the masses whilst ignoring any aspect of logic or any opinion that isn't the same.
Just because the murderer deserves it (and this is also debatable) doesn't mean it's right for the father to kill him.

Your excellent reference to The Lord of the Rings made me smile.
I completely agree with you.
@jo87:
"I feel bad for you because you seem to be clearly so into science and books that you can't make a point without sounding like you are trying to sound smart."
Wow, I'm incredulous at your ignorance and inability to make an intelligent argument. But, you made me smile, too.

I just get pissed period when people talk about a child's death/murder like it's so much worse than an adult being murdered. "oh he hasn't gotten a chance to live yet." Big ****ing whoop. You die at 20, you probably still have a good 40-60 years left.
On the flip side, he's probably has no understanding of the concept of death or experienced an existential crisis.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE. Life is life.
It's almost less cruel to kill someone when they're young. At least they'll never understand what they're losing. And what kind of 5 year old hasn't lived a good life? (inb4obviousexception s)

The things some parents would do for their children is unbelievable but also completely understandable.
I have no doubt my dad would do or try the same thing if he was in this situation.
A lot of movies, for example, True Grit (reverse sitch), John Q, Death Sentence, etc. (All great movies, btw) like to illustrate this controversial issue. And although they may seem unrealistic, many parents like this man are going through the same horror.
The father should not have been so public about it but
If he does it, who knows, maybe he'd save some other kid's life in the future? Plus, there's one more arsehole off the street.
