Grades Have Been Released!

Marks for Term I 2009-2010 were released as of midnight.

To check your marks:
  • Go to the MUGSI main page and click 'My grade report' link on the left
  • Using Maccess
Marks come out:
Once per business day. When on that business day is not publicized. It should also be noted that when the school is closed (which happens to be a good portion, if not all of the winter break) marks will not be posted.

"When on that business day is not publicized."

Is it supposed to be 8am? Or something? Either way, I suppose you're right, because yesterday marks were coming out before even the 23rd had started, let alone at 8am or 9am today.

From what I have seen in my first year and yesterday, marks are released around 10:00-10:30 PM every night, except when the next day is a holiday.

No, I don't think tomorrow's a holiday. I would except some grades to be released tonight.

Yeah I think Christmas Eve is not a holiday, but generally businesses/offices close early.

I've only got two of my grades showing... will the others come up eventually? I thought everything was supposed to be released today. Also, are they only giving us a letter grade and a grade from 1-12? I'm just not sure if I'm looking in the right place, so is that what I'm supposed to be seeing?

Yes, the others will come up eventually.
No, it starts today, but that doesn't mean everything has to be released today.

Yes, only those two. Those are your final marks (assuming a 3-5 unit course).

Hey guys, I have a question. When I go into Grade Reports in MUGSI I see that there are two columns. One of them is FINAL GRD PTS, the other one is DEF GRD PTS and the last one MIDYR GRD PTS. Can anyone tell me what each of those items means?

Is there any way to discuss the grade with your professor even if the grades have already been published?

final is the final mark in course. midyr is if your course is year long. Tells you what you have in the 1st half. Def I believe is the mark you get if the mark is delayed due to a deferred exam etc. not 100% sure

what happens if one of your courses in second semester requires that you pass the previous one in semester one but you actually failed it.

i.e. because u failed the course first semester you technically cant take it second semester cuz u wont be allowed

does that show up on solar? or on your timetable as a conflict?

And is there anyway to discuss your mark with your professor? Because I got a really low mark in one of the courses I was taking and I want to know if there's a way to discuss the final exam with the professor and see if I can make the mark be higher.
