I'm currently in honours life sci (2nd year) and I was looking at the degree requirements for the program and realized I somehow overlooked the fact that I need to take Psych 1XX3 by the end of 2nd year. If I took it this summer, would that still be considered as having completed it by the end of 2nd year? Also, if I wasn't able to complete the course by the end of 2nd year (ie if I couldn't take it in the summer), what would happen?

Technically you're still in second year until September, so yes, taking it this summer would be before the end of second year.

If you don't take it, then it depends why they require it to be done before third year. Perhaps it's a prereq for third year courses, perhaps it's a scheduling/course load issue, or maybe they just want to make sure everyone has done it. You'd have to talk to an advisor from your program or the faculty, but it's probably better to just take it in the summer.
