When do class sizes get smaller?
In second year commerce I thought class sizes would get smaller, but they are just getting bigger! When do class size get smaller ? Third or fourth year? I hate these claustrophobic huge classes :(.

Second year commerce is introductory stuff, but commerce related. Hence why they are so big. Third year is when things start to die down and more cores are available for classes, like 10, and class sizes drop down generally to about 100 or less. 4th year gets more specific, where in some classes you could have 100 or so, like the compulsories, or like 20 for commerce electives

Like Freddy mentioned, classes start to get smaller in 3rd year. even required courses are smaller in comparison to second year.
in third year people choose from a wide variety of commerce electives so the crowd gets spread out for your elective classes, and some required courses are offered both terms, again spreading out the crowd.

wait, isn't it claustrophobic if the classes are smaller ?
...unless there are so many of you that you're packed in like sardines, I guess.

That depends. We also need to consider how small the room is. I remember my second year Japanese class was literary in a classroom that looks like a broom closet. It was so small and there were like 15 of us there...

If you're taking upper year language classes, classes get smaller at second year...

3rd year people specialize more, taking less extra courses and really honing in on what they want to do. This results in less people in each class, as there are less 'general' courses. Don't worry... you'll get there!
