It depends on the course and the professor... in first year there are a variety of ways that you may be asked to hand in work... just wait for your professor to tell you how or ask in lecture/tutorial.

In upper years, you almost always hand assignments into drop-boxes.

In Humanities Soc Sci classes you hand your assignment in-class for the most part. Depending on what class you're taking and if you have a tutorial (and if it's mandatory) it will either be given to the TA or prof.
