Do Sessional Averages include Summer Marks?
Hi! I was wondering about how Sessional Averages are calculated. Are they the average of the 30 units of the fall/winter term, or are spring/summer marks included as well?
In other words, when finding out if I am eligible for the Senate Scholarship, Provost's Honour Roll, etc... should I take my summer marks into consideration?
Cheers!

Well, each time you enroll in a course a sessional average is calculated for the "session" in which you enrolled. A sessional average would be calculated for the summer session, but this average would not go towards the fall/winter session.

Although, for the purposes of awards such as Dean's List, the summer courses count for the following year, because your average for these awards is reviewed after you've completed a certain number of units. Assuming you were last reviewed in April, you won't complete enough units to be reviewed at the end of the summer, so it'll count for whenever you next get reviewed.
For example, in second year my SA was 9.4, which is a shade below the requirement for Dean's list (9.5), but I had taken two summer courses the summer before and got 11 and 12 in them, so that pushed my average above 9.5 and I got Dean's list. However, my SA for the summer was 11.5 and my SA for the fall/winter term was 9.4.

Does that mean if you get <12 in a summer course and you received 12 in everything in the fall/winter session, you would not be eligible for the Provost Honour Roll?

That's correct. Provost and Dean review range is from the last dated review, so it would cover previous spring/summer and current fall/winter.
