kinkyboots' story is corroborated by photographic evidence. Until you provide the same, he remains the most epic.

I'm curious - can you elaborate on your views on body piercing?

Ok some bloke with a 6 gauge ring dangling from his nose or on his lip is interacting with you. if you are offended by said holes poked in his face by metal, there is NOTHING YOU CAN DO lol since you must continue to be polite, make eye contact etc.
Some bloke wearing "homo" boots is talking to you. You are not required to look at his feet for social interation. Therefore (i thought) it is easier for close minded people to deal with me than someone pierced.
As for my op. I really dont care. I have enormous respect for their bravery.

6g? That's huge for a nose or lip piercing! O_o

You have to admit though, piercings, even really large ones like you mentioned are generally more accepted than enormous platform boots, regardless of the gender who wears them.

maybe piercings in your ears and regular sized ones on your face (nose etc.) but if someone came to school with a lip disk i'd say they were more "distracting" than kinky boots

So non-piercing aficionados know what we're talking about: http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Gauge

Most earrings are regularly a 16g or so.

I personally am more comfortable around the platform boots. To be fair, I was raised by a family of accountants and lawyers (and am following one of those career paths myself), so I may not be the most open minded person out there... But I feel like the boots are a great way of expressing yourself, while still leaving the opportunity to present yourself more... conservatively... when the situation warrants. Some extreme piercings freak me out because there's nothing temporary about them...

Does anyone else agree that it's probably more gender related? like if you saw a girl wearing those boots you'd just think she was into punk or something, but for a guy to wear them seems more shocking.. i'm not wording this properly lol but i mean this is something that is less acceptible than piercings (by most) bc a male is doing it, mixing up the gender roles society has "assigned us" and making it seem more odd or problematic
