What do you think about the Sony Vaio laptop?
I am wondering if the Sony Vaio SVE15223FDP 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 Processor is a good laptop for science kids in university? They offer them at future shop and best buy ($599.99) and I was trying to search up reviews on google but couldnt find anything at all..

Does anyone know anything about this model? If not, any thoughts on how good the Sony brand is in general?

For $600 that's a pretty good deal. When I had a Vaio, it cost me around $1000 for an i5. It should be good enough for anything you'd do in Science. The most intense work I've had to do so far is having Firefox and LoL open at the same time, and it didn't break >.

I paid 700$ for an Asus i5 about a year and a half ago. Yours is pretty decent, considering you get a blue ray player and i5... not much information or reviews seem to pop up in an internet search, and I typically stay away from products that don't have reviews readily available.

Asus is the worst company to go with when buying a laptop whereas Sony is a safe choice.
