Does anybody know how to use the undergraduate master timetable ?
I've made a couple of trials filling in course codes and random dates etc, (i supposed it was used for preparation before solar log in and enables us to see the sections and all that stuff) but i never ever see its purpose... it leads me basically to this useless timetable that has zero amount of information in it :S i'm lost..

Really, don't bother with anything other than the course code and the subject areas.

The master timetable's just there to see what times are available for what class.

The master timetable is good for seeing what classes fit into your schedule without any conflicts; so that come August you'll know how to resolve potential conflicts right away in SOLAR. SOLAR will not show you conflicts right now, when they 'verify changes', it's just checking that you have prerequisites for the courses in question.

I still don't understand the time table and how it works. All I see is a list of tutorials and lectures:

C01 Mo We 14:30 15:20 1 TSH/B128
MCLEAN, D
T01 Fr 14:30 15:20 1 KTH/106
T02 We 09:30 10:20 1 KTH/B107
T03 Th 12:30 13:20 1 KTH/106
T04 Tu 14:30 15:20 1 KTH/B101
T05 Fr 14:30 15:20 1 KTH/B102
T06 Th 11:30 12:20 1 KTH/B102
T07 Fr 12:30 13:20 1 KTH/105
T08 Tu 12:30 13:20 1 KTH/B102
T09 Th 10:30 11:20 1 KTH/B102
T10 Tu 08:30 09:20 1 KTH/B102
What does all mean in term of my schedule?

I'd also advise reading that article, I did make it sort of really long, so let me boil it down for you :].

Basically what you see there is all the different times for the core classes (these are lectures, and are denoted by C01, C02, etc...) as well as the times for your tutorials (T01, T02...) and labs (L01, L02...)

You'll see what rooms they take place in, so for example, for this particular course, there is only one core. Meaning, there is only one lecture section and you have to take that one. Sometimes there are more, usually because there are more students and they have more than one lecture section taking place per week.

You see the column with the number 1 in every row? That's just talking about the term it takes place in. 1 means term 1, 2 means term 2, and term 3 means term 1 AND 2 - it runs all year.

When choosing your courses, I'd advise writing them down on a piece of paper with a few lines inbetween. Then do something like this:

example:

BIOLOGY 1A03
C01: Mo & We
14:30-15:20
TSH/B128
T01: Fr
14:30-15:20
KTH/106

The TSH and KTH stuff? Those are buildings and rooms that they take place in.

After you've done this for all your courses, make a mock timetable in Word or Excel or something, and make sure you don't have any conflicts (i.e. classes or tutorials occuring at the same time).

Hope that helps! If you have any questions, post here or PM me.
