Unless you have been walking around campus with your eyes closed, you'll notice that there are TONS of posters and chalked sidewalks with the event info and the question "Does God Exist?". Quite a nice marketing strategy of bombardment if you ask me

EVENT : An academic debate on the topic, "
Does God Exist?"
DATE : Thursday, October 19 2006
TIME : 7:00 pm
LOCATION : Chester New Hall, Lecture Hall 104
The debate will consist of a
25-minute presentation from each of the speakers and a
10-minute rebuttal, followed by a
Q&A period from the audience.
The event is sponsored by both Campus for Christ and the McMaster Philosophy Society.

Joe Boot
Position : Affirmative (Theist)
Joe Boot is an apologist and author of
Why I Still Believe and
Searching for Truth. Currently, Joe is the Executive Director of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries in Canada. His work with RZIM has taken him all over the world to more than 20 countries. He has addressed audiences at Eton College, Windsor, Oxford University, London School of Theology, University of Toronto, Waterloo University, and Forman University College in Pakistan. He lectures regularly at the RZIM summer school at Oxford.
David Hitchcock
Position : Negative (Atheist)
David Hitchcock is currently a professor at McMaster University. His research interests are in Theory of Argumentation (Informal Logic) as well as Greek Philosophy, including the work of ancient Greek philosophers (mainly Plato and Aristotle) on fallacies and the evaluation of arguments. He has been teaching philosophy at McMaster since 1968. He was acting Associate Dean of Humanities in 1977-78, and Chair of the Department of Philosophy in 1989-92.
