Do you guys think gaps between classes that are longer than 1 hour are better than 1 hour gaps?

Also, if the labs are biweekly, does our first lab start in the first week of school or the latter week? Is this biweekly labs also the reason why I could overlap tutorials and labs together in the timetable generator without a conflict? :/ (Not shown in mine but I was testing it out)
As for waking up early at 8, me and a lot of students said we would do that but that NEVER happened first year! Especially when my average bedtime was 2am haha. Getting up for any 8:30 class or labs is going to be difficult first year.

The labs started the third week of school I think.. so don't worry about it yet. And yes, that's the reason because you will have labs one week, then next week is your tutorial, then the next week is your lab, and so on.

For breaks, yes 2 hour breaks are better because you could get more done. I usually went back to my res, took a shower, ate lunch, or took a nap :p

Thanks! Sounds good haha. Are the tutorials biweekly as well then? I don't quite understand the scheduling of the tutorials/labs fully haha :S

Yeah labs and tutorials are biweekly. Let's say this week I have a lab, I would not have a tutorial. Next week I will have a tutorial, but no lab. The third week, I will have a lab and no tutorial. The fourth week I will have a tutorial and no lab...etc. I never went to tutorials anyways so for me it was a week of labs, a week of nothing, and another week of labs.
If there's a holiday like Thanksgiving or Easter, all tutorials/labs that week are cancelled for Chemistry.

Oh, I see. That's weird because on the mcmaster courses website it only says "every other week" for the labs and not the tutorials. Does this biweekly rule apply for ALL labs + tutorials for all the courses?
I also heard from someone that your tutorial and lab numbers had to be the same, could you verify this? (E.g., T12 and L12)

Yeah I know lol.
I believe so. I haven't heard of anyone with different tutorial or lab numbers. It doesn't matter because you won't get to choose your lab or tutorial number anyways...SOLAR chooses it for you.

daftypatty says thanks to kaytuh for this post.

I don't know how your study habits are, but most people left a little bit of space before their Kin 1A03 test spots on Fridays so they could study. I usually had a 2 hour break before them.

I'm not sure they have to be the same, but they were for me. You'll probably go to tutorial your first week just to check it out, but most stop after that.

You don't really need to be over-concerned with your time slot for tutorials. You can pretty much go to one at whatever time you like. I usually went directly to teachers during their office hours if I had any questions.
