double room-no roommate
My roommate decided to go to mac next year, so right now I don't have a roommate, what are the chances that I'll get another roommate?

You likely won't get another roommate till the start of second term (in January), if at all. It happened to a guy on my floor last year, but it did make for a pretty sweet party room...

Conversely, you could also get a roommate when you least expect it at some random time during the year - sometimes they need to move people out of a certain building for various reasons (serious roommate conflicts can occasionally lead to this), and they'll put them wherever there's room. They also sometimes offer people on the waiting list those spots, but they're rarely taken by them mid-semester, usually because they've secured alternate accomodations by now.

But yes, sometimes they never move another person in, and you get a "super single". You just can't get too comfortable on that other side of the room because you never know if Housing will eventually pop someone new in there.

One of my current housemates, who lived in my res last year, somehow had a TRIPLE room to himself.

I had a double room (WITH WASHROOM) to myself cuz my first roommate decided to come to mac 2nd semester, but yeah they assigned me a new roommate after abt 2 weeks. Same with my neighbours who were 2 ppl in a triple room, and they got a new roommate in the 2nd sem.

If u past the 2 weeks point i suppose ur "safe" for the first sem lol, but you'll probably get another roomate by 2nd sem since the waiting list is always there.

It's not too bad though, if ur compatible with ur roommate like I was, then you guys can become great friends! ^___^

It might also depend on the residence also, I was in Matthews Hall. Good luck with the solo room though! (and don't tell ur CA haha)

it also depends on when their roommate left.
There is still a wait list going on, so people are still sure to keep moving in for the first few weeks. and definately again in jan when ppl request to live in residence for second semester only (ex. coop students)

Heh, he/she? No way, wishful thinking though. Room mates are the same gender.
