Earth Science 2GG3 with Basik
Hi, I am considering Earth Science 2GG3 next term.

Does anyone know how professor Basik is?

I know Basik is teaching this term so any thoughts about the professor?
How is the course in general?
Is it interesting?
Is it reasonable?

I have this course this term and I like Basik as a prof. He’s really enthusiastic and seems to really enjoy what he’s teaching. He’s Russian I believe and he has an accent, but I can understand him just fine and it’s never been an issue for me.

The course is really easy. The midterm was very easy so I think he'll make the exam harder. I find the material okay; some parts are more interesting than others. The workload is really light compared to any of my other classes and I’m really glad I took it as an elective.

I was thinking of taking this course as an elective for 2nd semester and I was just wondering if the textbook is useful at all?

Thanks!

I read it a bit at the beginning but then stopped because I found the course so easy. Ended up finishing with a 12.

Does the prof post complete powerpoint slides for the course. Did you attend all of the classes or you still did well without going ?

Pdfs of the powerpoints were posted online, with pretty much all the information. And I attended most of the classes before the first midterm.

After that, maybe just a handful of classes.
