Psych is more difficult now, apparently. Sarah13 was in the old program, taught by Dr. Dick Day, which is not the same as the one currently being taught by Dr. Joe Kim.

No, I was taught by Dr. Kim, so I'm assuming the general format for the course will stay the same. However, changes were continually being made throughout the year, so I can't say for sure that next year will be exactly the same.

Are there any Health Studies courses (1A03, 2AA3, 2AN3, 2D03, 2H03, 2HG3, 3AA3, 3C03, 3CC3, 3D03, 3E03, 3H03, 3HH3, 3Y03, 3YY3) which are related to Health Sciences?

Health Studies and Health Sci courses are linked, but focus on the social aspect of the health rather than the medical side

what about INQUIRY 2HS3? have u heard anything about that course? it's a second year course but is open to first year students, and I'm thinking about taking it as an elective...

Don't take second year courses in first year. I did that and got horribly burned in terms of assumed knowlege.

yes. i wouldn't recommend it as well. First year, you are still getting use to the differnet learning styles and course outlines. If you are really interested in taking that course, take it as an elective in second year!

if you ask the prof, is there a chance of getting into health sci courses even though I'm not in health sci program? I just love anatomy and stuff like that and I really want to take one of the courses as an elective. any chance of that happening?

there is an anatomy course offered every other year through bio, and i believe one offered through kin...upper year courses though.

hey katie_batt, if you look specifically at the course in the course calendar, check to see what the prerequisite is. If it says that you need to be in health sci or permission, then there is a chance you can get in if you get the permission. So then its worth a try to ask. If it doesn't say that, and only specifically for people in the program, then its probably really difficult for you to get in. But either way, just email and ask. You never know, you might be an exception!  |

A friend mentioned to me about this site which lists 'bird courses' at various universities. Not sure of the accuracy, but it has a pretty large list. Be sure to ask about the courses in this forum so you can get opinions from people who have actually taken the class!
