Econ 2B03

Ignore the title of this class. It's just stats haha. No "analysis" of Economic data. That doesn't really start until 3rd year anyways.

Some bits of this class are Grade 12 Data Management, but I found alot of it was new/kinda-new. You go over regression, PROBABILITY, sample tests (those are awful) and anything else you can think of that's like stats haha.

In terms of the breakdown, there are 3 tests, each worth 20% each. Then there are two assignments, which worth 7.5% totalling to 15% altogether. The assignments are done on Excel; the first one is easy peasy but the second one, not so much. On top of this, he gives out practice tests, which helps alot.

The exam is worth 25% and is cumulative, but he gives you a practice exam and a breakdown of each question pretty much, so it wasn't too bad.

Overall, the prof, James Bruce, is really nice but he's sometimes quite unorganized. For example, if we have a test on Tuesday, he won't tell us until Sunday or Monday what's on the test. Kindaaaa sucks haha.

Moonballoon likes this.

For BA Econ you would have to take stats 1L03. according to the course calendar you do not have to take soc sci 2j03. If you want to transfer into honours then you will still have to take stats 1L03 and then take Econ 2B03 or Soc Sci 2J03 (it is recommended that you take Econ 2B03).

thanks =D

So if i wanted to get into honours economics in 3rd year, would it be recommended to do the 3 required course for B.A Economics (2B03, 2G03, 2H03) along with the econ course required for honours (2GG3 and 2HH3) all in my second year?

Do you need the textbook for this course? Also, I have J. Racine as a prof. How is he?
