ELM is on the fritz again. Didn't they claim that the fixed the problem by removing the application by Blackboard that was apparently slowing things down? I beg to differ anything has been fixed...

We pay a hell of a lot of money to come here and quite frankly I have expectations. I hate how elm is negatively impacting my education. I want real answers to these problems. No such problems existed with web CT. I really dont care what service we use or why we have to use one over another i just want something that works.

What types of classes? I've never seen/heard of Moodle before. I'm curious as to how it works.

I can't even login at this point.
It better work soon, because I have a short paper due on Friday and I need the readings from ELM.

Someone should start a petition to be sent to... someone... regarding this. It's absolutely unacceptable. I would do it, but my writing skills aren't up to snuff, and I usually come across as a huge d**k.

Someone I believe would be university admin. Although I'm not quite sure.

Matt Wright, SRA Engineering is dealing personally with people involved with ELM. Perhaps you could consider contacting him with your idea.

ELM is going to be singlehandedly responsible for the development of my hernia. I need to log in to get to readings, but of course I cannot. This is simply delightful.
Edit: I am going to name the hernia ELM in honour of its father.

Well, I just submitted my assignment via ELM. Its a written thing submitted via the quiz feature, and I timed how long it would take. Keep in mind, I have already written it in Word. I only need to copy and paste it in.
From logging in, to submitting it and getting the confirmation screen = 11 min
The thing is, I am so done with complaining. I feel its a waste of my time/breath. This won't get resolved, and then next year when they abandon ELM, they will try a new system, at a huge additional cost, for which we will have to be guinny pigs again.
PS, to the Moodle supporters: Moodle is extremely limited in its functionality and what it is capable of. I have had a class with it, and its nothing more than a poorly laid out bulletin board. There is no grading functionality, no class organization (just pop in a password, and you're in the class), and its not very professional. Learnlink has my same arguments except for the previous collaboration features. Learnlink too is just a forum, nothing more. ELM *should* be the proper way, if it worked, and had a few of the features WebCT had that were removed, and worked...oh and worked.

So you're the mother? :O
And wow this thing is so slow...it is ridiculous that a university, especially a good one like mac, would have such a weak vital program such as ELM.

I figure since the hernia will grow inside of me, I am the closest thing to a mother it will ever have. Poor little bugger...

Well its going to be a ******* because you just can't reply on ELM which will go off without notice.
EDIT: the word is b, a, s, t, e, r, d
EDIT 2: that's the wrong one (from the movie)...i meant *b, a, s, t, a, r, d*

they did fix it. However they just recently upgraded it which apparently brought on a whole new landslide of errors.
