ELM update - Jan. 15

There have been problems this week with ELM, McMaster's electronic learning management system.
Blackboard, the vendor of the ELM system, is working to correct these problems. Two patches have been applied to the system, which is not yet operating at full capacity.
Blackboard engineers continue their work to rectify the situation. The Centre for Leadership in Learning apologizes for any inconveniences experienced by students and faculty. In order to facilitate this work, ELM will be off-line between 10:00 and 11:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15 and as needed as work continues.

Still have yet to have ELM problems this semester. Its a bit slower than normal, but its not to the point where I'm waiting minutes for pages to load like it is for you guys. Not sure why, since I'm not using it during weird hours either. ::shrug::

All my professors use their own personal websites now instead of ELM and even openly complain about how bad it is to work with during lecture. Although ELM seems to be working fine for me albiet a bit slower then WebCT.

I hate how whenever they fix it, it actually becomes relatively easy to use and quick. So why can't they do that from the start? They knew it was going to be as busy as it was at the start of September, and if they could fix it so easily with just a few hours of down-time, why not have done it during the break so it's ready for January?

Its working pretty damn well now.

thankfully it's been working at an awesome speed since yesterday! =) life feels so good...now that elm is working sooo smoothly!
