Engineer Co-op.
Right now, I'm in ENG 1.

Can someone give me some information on what is required for me to take co-op?

I'll write a haiku for you!

Engineering's Hard.
Not so bad except for math.

You need to go to ECCS and sign up for the program. Then you take a course ENG 1EE0 I believe which introduces you to job search techniques, interview tips, resumes and stuff like that.

Once that is all complete...Congrats you're in the co-op program*

*Note: this may have changed. Your best bet is to go talk to ECCS in JHE/A214

You also have to pay a $100 co-op fee each year.

You need to be registered in an Engineering Program. That is your only requisite. Or even B.Tech maybe. You can take it in the first year. You have to go register.
The course involves 4 lectures of 2 Hours each. You pay a $100 Fee ONLY ONCE...
Then every work term you get, you pay $230/275 for every 4 months you work to Mcmaster.

If you need any more info ask here.
I just finished the course.

This reminds me, my Co-op Assignment was due October 10 and I ain't done it...
PWNED!...yeah...PWNED !

What about finding a job after the registration? Where do I find it and when will be the best time to approach a company for co-op? I may need to get it earlier than usual since I need to apply my student work visa and that might take a long time!! so I want to understand it earlier. Thanks a lot !!

Well you needn't worry about the visa, they ECCS office will help you with everything once you enroll. And as for the the job search. You use OSCAR, if you don't know what that is, go to

oscar.mcmaster.ca

And you can also look for a job independently through your contacts, heck if you're international you could even go work back home if ECCS approves your job offer from back home..

The eng co-op fee of 100$ is a YEARLY fee! It's not just once, it's every year that you are in the engineering co-op program.

Ahh...my bad
I'm pretty sure though that the $275/4-month Term is correct.
