Engineering graduates
I noticed in JHE at the 2nd and 3rd floor, there are these pictures of students that graduated. It seems that there's only around 200'ish people in that picture...
Im not sure but isnt there around 1500 engineering students in 1st year @ [email protected], what happened to the other 1300 people who didn't graduate.
Maybe some pictures were not put up, or there's a lot less engineering students in 1st year than i thought. Anyone know?

err 1500? try 800-900 unless things changed from last year. Keep in mind, some people do mgmt/society which adds an extra year, or if people do a 16 month work term, and some do fail out

its so sad. but even if we account from ppl in mangment and coop lets say who sart in 2000 so instead of graduating in 2004 they do in 2005, ppl who started in 1999 would have graduated in 2004 so that year should still have a good amount of kids graduating

A lot of people drop out after first year.
Also, (I think) first year Engineering is a general program. Once you get into second year, you choose your specialty. The first year numbers split up into different specialties. The grad photos you see are people in specialties, so that's why there are less people.

Were you looking at the most recent picture frame? I guess you also have to take into account that there are people who didn't bother with getting their picture taken, etc? :S

The grad photos include all specialties, so yes there's less people in each specialty but they're all in one grad photo frame.

Not sure how it is for Engineering, but for Science apparently we need to get our pictures taken prior to mid January in order to be on the composite. I think that's kind of ridiculous considering we graduate in June...

Maybe it has something to do with being the biggest faculty in terms of the number of students in the entire campus.

Social Science is the same. We had to have our photos done by the end of December to be in the composite in June.
